Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 Detailed in Photos

While the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 release date remains ever elusive, the device itself has surfaced ahead of a possible launch in the weeks ahead.

A website called The Brave Post, courtesy of The Verge, has gotten its hands on the Galaxy Note 10.1 ahead of its release and the unboxing has revealed several new features that will be coming with the Android tablet upon its release.

While we have seen many of the device’s features leak out, there are two features that hadn’t leaked in the past that have shown up in the day. First, the device apparently will be coming with a solid 2GB of RAM instead of the 1GB of RAM that we previously saw. That amount of RAM should make for a very fluid and powerful software experience on the Galaxy Note 10.1.

The Galaxy Note 10.1 might arrive on August 15th.

It also appears that Samsung will be including a way for users to pair the tablet with their smartphone which will allow users to use the tablet as a speakerphone and send out messages and receive messages.

The Galaxy Note 10.1 has been unboxed.

What’s clear is that Samsung has changed the Galaxy Note 10.1 around from the device that we first saw launch at the Mobile World Congress event in Barcelona at the beginning of 2012.

In the time since, in addition to the aforementioned features, Samsung has apparently added a quad-core processor and a slot for the S-Pen. The quad-core processor is said to be clocked at 1.4GHz.

It’s also expected to support HSPA+ which means it could arrive on an American carrier like AT&T or T-Mobile, both of which have signed on for the original 5.3-inch Samsung Galaxy Note.

Samsung has an event coming up on August 15th which may serve as the launching pad for this device. The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is rumored for that event as well but it could be the Galaxy Note 10.1 that might finally make an appearance new features and all.

In April I bought my first iPad/first Apple product ever. It’s a nice bit of kit, but I’m not as gung-ho as others are.

If this Samsung Note 10.1 can address the palm/wrist rejection problem, then I’m likely to get one as I want to do handwritten notes most of the time (a 7.7″ version would also be attractive).

The more I read about this, the more I like it. I will definitely be buying one of these. I have the original 10.1 and it’s got a damaged screen, but I’ve been holding out for this. The number one reason why I want this is because of the S pen.
