Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 Jelly Bean Update Coming Later This Year

Samsung has confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 Jelly Bean update will be coming out later this year, though, it gave no specific date for the roll out.

Earlier today, the company took the wraps off of its Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet for the second time this year. The newly redesigned tablet was originally showcased back at Mobile World Congress in February.

In the time that Samsung had between now and then, it outfitted the device with a new quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, and split screen multitasking.

It also managed to leave Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich on board.

The Galaxy Note 10.1 won’t get Jelly Bean until later this year.

During the event, Samsung confirmed that the device would be running an older version of Android when it hits shelves. Instead of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, the latest version of Android, the Galaxy Note 10.1 will be running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

Samsung though has promised Android 4.1 Jelly Bean for the Galaxy Note 10.1 later on this year. It did not say when the software upgrade would drop specifically, but at this point, we have to take the company at its word.

After all, it appears to be hard at work at upgrading its devices to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

Samsung is rumored to be rolling out Android 4.1 Jelly Bean for the Samsung Galaxy S III as soon as August 29th. At the very least, it’s clear that the company is hard at work trying to get the upgrade ready.

It’s also said to have started testing for the Samsung Galaxy S II and Samsung Galaxy Note Android 4.1 Jelly Bean updates though those aren’t 100 percent guaranteed to roll out like the Galaxy S III software.

In any event, it looks like Samsung is working hard to get Jelly Bean to its customers and there is no reason to doubt that it will break its promise of getting the Galaxy Note 10.1 upgraded to Android 4.1 later this year.

Let’s just hope that it comes before December 31st.
