The Samsung Galaxy S III circus is in full swing as another possible release date has been thrown into the mix today courtesy of the folks at MobileCowboys who say that the Galaxy S III will launch in Turkey on March 13th. This comes after we heard that the Galaxy S III would not be announced at the Mobile World Congress next month, that Samsung was still discussing possible release dates and after we learned that Samsung would be tying a major product launch in with the London Summer Olympics.
So, consider us skeptical of this March date.
Still, as we know, anything is possible in the world of mobile and it’s certainly possible that Samsung could make an announcement at or shortly after the Mobile World Congress.
We have heard that Samsung is trying to space out the releases of the Galaxy S II and the Galaxy S III and that the company doesn’t want a repeat of last year’s launch where the United States saw the Galaxy S II long after it had launched elsewhere in the world.
Yes, for those of you new to the game, a launch on March 13th in Turkey doesn’t necessarily mean a March 13th launch in North America.
The report also mentions two other devices called the Samsung Galaxy Note S and the Galaxy S II Plus and both are expected to arrive before the end of the year.
Don’t get too excited though, we’re still in January.
Details on those two are scarce, but if we had to guess, we’d say that the Galaxy Note S is a souped up version of the Galaxy Note which is going to be hitting AT&T on February 19th.
The Galaxy S III is rumored to have a quad-core processor, HD screen and Android 4.0. Obviously, Samsung hasn’t made any of that official yet.
In the meantime, be sure to check out our five features we would love to see on the Galaxy S III.
