The Samsung Galaxy S III Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update has leaked out once again, another sign that the Galaxy S III could be getting its Jelly Bean update in the near future.
Jelly Bean for the Galaxy S III leaked out a couple of times over the last few weeks and today, we have another leak for owners of the international version of the Galaxy S III, otherwise known as the GT-i9300. This is not the same model that is available on carriers in the U.S. so those who own a Galaxy S III in the United States will not be able to use this.
That being said, the update is currently available for download on SamMobile for those who wish to get a taste of Ice Cream Sandwich early.
The build is XXDLH6.
Now, owners of the international Galaxy S III should be aware that while it might be close to it, this is likely not the final version of the Galaxy S III Jelly Bean update. Owners will also have to root their device and know how to flash a ROM to get the software up and running.
Those who are novice at this should hold out for the official update which should be coming soon, quite possibly on August 29th.
The fact that the update has leaked out several times is a fairly good sign that something may just be around the corner and an unveiling at Samsung’s Galaxy Note 2 launch event, set for August 29th, is as good of a place as any to announce the roll out for the Galaxy S III.
Of course, there is also a chance that Samsung delays the software beyond that date, something that often happens in the world of Android.
If the August 29th roll out is true, the Galaxy S III would join the Nexus S, Galaxy Nexus HSPA+, Motorola Xoom, Asus Transformer Pad 300, and the Nexus 7 as devices on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
American carriers have yet to roll out the software to their devices which means the Galaxy S III in the U.S. might not see the update for awhile.
We have heard that the Verizon Galaxy S III Jelly Bean update is closer than consumers might expect though we were given no time table as far as its release date is concerned.
