The Samsung Galaxy S4 is finally on sale in the United States through several carriers and despite being on shelves for just a few days, the highly anticipated device has already seen its price slashed at retailers like Amazon where the device is being offered with fairly deep discounts.
We’ve already seen the Samsung Galaxy S4 discounted through retailers like Sam’s Club and Walmart and now, Amazon has thrown its name into the hat as it’s currently offering two of the Galaxy S4 models at prices far below their price tags through their respective carriers.
AT&T and Sprint are two of the carriers currently offering the Galaxy S4 with AT&T selling the Galaxy S4 for $199.99 on-contract and Sprint offering the device up for $250. Those bringing a new number to Sprint can take $100 off of that price tag, dropping the price down to $199.99. For those that are looking for alternatives, Amazon is currently offering discounts on these two Galaxy S4 variants.
Amazon currently has the AT&T Galaxy S4 on sale for $168, cheaper than the $199.99 price tag that it commands through the carrier’s website and retail stores. The Sprint Galaxy S4 is even cheaper than that, selling for $150, much cheaper than Sprint’s asking price.
Of course, there are some caveats. Amazon only has limited stock of AT&T’s model left and the Sprint Galaxy S4 isn’t shipping out for two to four weeks, likely due to the inventory issues that American carriers have been experiencing with the high-end device. The trade-off, for someone, may be worth it as Amazon not only has cheap pricing, but free two day shipping as well.
Amazon doesn’t have the T-Mobile or U.S. Cellular Galaxy S4 models on sale and may never have them on sale. However, we fully expect Amazon to offer up the Verizon Galaxy S4 when it arrives late next month. Verizon has tagged the Galaxy S4 with a $199.99 price and May 30th release date. Amazon should fall in line with that release date but the pricing will more than likely be lower than that.
Consumers should expect Amazon to offer the device for around the same price as the AT&T and Sprint models that are currently on sale.
