The Samsung Galaxy S5 is official and will be coming to shelves in April, without a metal design. One designer has taken it upon himself to bring the Galaxy S5 metal design rumors back to life with a new concept in the form of a Samsung Galaxy F, a name that we have heard thrown around in the past.

In the buildup to the Samsung Galaxy S5 launch in February, reports pegged the Galaxy S5 as having two distinct designs. Samsung, they said, would launch two models, one with a plastic design and another with a metal design. For years, consumers have pleaded with Samsung to release a premium metal smartphone and the Galaxy S5 seemed to like it could will deliver. Turns out, Samsung wasn’t quite ready.

The Galaxy S5 that debuted on stage in Barcelona features a plastic design with a microSD card slot and a removable back plate, hallmarks of Samsung’s Galaxy line. Missing, was a metal Galaxy S5 that had rumored time and time again. And while the metal Galaxy S5 might be dead, at least for now, a designer has taken it upon himself to deliver a beautiful Galaxy S5 concept that brings the rumors back to life.

Designer Ivo Marić has created a Galaxy F concept that incorporates a metal design. The name Galaxy F has been thrown around before as Samsung’s premium Galaxy smartphone and there are rumors that point to a release in the months after the initial Galaxy S5 release in April. Marić’s Galaxy F concept pulls heavily from the design of Samsung’s Galaxy S but it’s the metal casing that makes it extremely intriguing.

Of course, if Samsung does release a Galaxy F smartphone with a metal design, it probably won’t look like this. The centered camera, home button with fingerprint sensor and a large screen all are likely but the overall look probably won’t mirror the real deal.

Reports continue to point to a metal Galaxy S5 and there are those that think that it will arrive a few months after the initial Galaxy S5 is released. It’s still not clear if this device will be released on the same scale as the Galaxy S5, released on a limited scale like the Galaxy Round, or if it will even be released at all.

Samsung is rumored to be delivering a Galaxy S5 mini and Galaxy S5 zoom later this year and it could be there, at an event for those two, that the company shows off a metal Galaxy flagship. That’s just speculation though it does fit in with rumors that point to a launch months after the Galaxy S5’s April release.

The Galaxy S5 that’s official will be coming with a dust and water resistant plastic design, a 5.1-inch full HD display, speedy processor, 16MP camera, Android 4.4 KitKat and brand new software features that include additions to the camera application.

Metal only will not be enough to close the gap to Sony’s Xperia Z2.
To regain the mobile phone spec crown, Samsung must also raise its spec. I guess 4GB RAM, 64GB Flash Storage, 3500 mAh Battery, etc, etc. Also important is that Samsung must bring back the FM Radio Hardware Device Built-in, or better if it can add SW Radio too.

The feature has always been part of Samsung’s mobile phone, but then Samsung makes decision blunder by removing it, thus, shocking & alienating their customers.
Galaxy S3 has built-in Radio, but Galaxy S5 does not.

People who are aware, do not like being pushed away from data-free FM Radio toward ‘data & battery eating’ Streaming Radio, might be due to pressures from carriers.

Remember Windows8? Microsoft suffers when it removed the ‘Start’ menu and pushed people to use the Tiles Based UI on PC. Samsung should have learned.
