Samsung promises up to $300 for your old phone. All you’ll have to do is visit the trade-in page, purchase a new Samsung-branded smartphone, and send in your old device within 30 days of purchase. You’ll get a check sent to you for your cash back. If you’ve purchased a Samsung device recently prior to the announcement of the trade-up and trade-in program, you’ll have to have your receipt available.

Participating in the program will make you an eco-friendly consumer as well. Samsung is working with Clover Wireless for the program. Once they receive your old phone, that device is spared of its fate in the landfills as Clover will recondition and refurbish your device for sale either in the U.S. or overseas, or sends your device off for recycling.

The amount you get in cash from the program will vary based on the device that you send in. To be safe, you should wipe all materials and information from your phone prior to sending in your old phone to Samsung and Clover.

Never again will I buy a Samsung product. I’ve been burned enough times that even I have learned it’s not worth the hassle. Although it does amuse me that Samsung now has to literally pay people to try it’s products. Sounds like I’m not the only one that has learned that buying a Samsung product means inviting pain and suffering.
