Specs Emerge for T-Mobile Wildfire S Smartphone

With the HTC Sensation 4G occupying the high-end slot on T-Mobile USA’s portfolio, the carrier will also be bringing a more compact Wildfire S to slot into the mid-range to entry level position. The Android 2.3 Gingerbread smartphone would be T-Mobile’s equivalent of the rumored Sprint Hero 4G smartphone.

The Wildfire S is now known to sport a 3.2-inch HVGA display, compared to the larger 4.3-inch higher qHD resolution screen of the HTC Sensation 4G.

The device will have a 5-megapixel rear camera, though the more budget-friendly Wildfire S won’t have a front-facing camera for self-portraits or video chat. Additionally, while the specs sheet list the 3G radio frequency as those compatible for AT&T’s U.S. network, that probably is a typo and the device will launch with T-Mobile USA’s AWS 3G bands.

Pricing and availability is still not known for this handset. The Wildfire S was previously rumored as the HTC Marvel. The device was previously speculated to launch on July 15th.
