Sprint Galaxy Note 2 Gets Closer to Launch

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 moved closer to launch on Sprint as the device showed up in a Wi-Fi Certification which means its one step closer to launching on Sprint’s 4G LTE network.

UnwiredView found the listing for the model number SPH-L900 which is thought to be the model number for the Sprint Galaxy Note 2, a device that Sprint hasn’t announced yet.

The listing doesn’t reveal much other than the model number and the fact that it’s now certified, but it is a sign that we are progressively getting closer to a Galaxy Note 2 launch on Sprint and presumably, on several other U.S. carriers including AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon.

The Galaxy Note 2 is likely headed to Sprint.

The Sprint Galaxy Note 2 has showed up numerous times in previous rumors including one that detailed many of its specifications. The latest has the device running a quad-core Exynos processor along with 4G LTE and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. The device is also supposed to feature most of the features of the international Galaxy Note 2 that launched back in August.

At this point though, it’s all just rumor as neither Samsung nor Sprint has confirmed the Galaxy Note 2.

Samsung’s official stance on the release date is that it will be coming to the United States later on this year. We know that it’s going to be launching in several regions not called the U.S. starting in October.

Rumor has it, the Galaxy Note 2 will land on various carriers in the United States starting in Q4 of this year. That leaves a wide launch window which includes the months of October, November and December.

We still aren’t sure about a specific release date.

So, while the companies involved remain silent, it’s looking more and more like Sprint’s 4G LTE network will be graced with Samsung’s new 5.5-inch phablet device, a device that will surely excite Sprint customers who weren’t able to pick up the original Galaxy Note.
