Star Wars Battlefront: 5 Things to Know After 1 Month

Published

on

Star Wars Battlefront details continue to emerge for prospective buyers and current players and today we want to take a look at a few that should be on your radar this week.

Its been a month since EA and DICE released Star Wars Battlefront for PS4, Xbox One and PC. And during that time, we’ve seen tons of new information and new content emerge.

Earlier this month, the companies released The Battle of Jakku, a free-to-play DLC that adds a new game mode and new maps. The DLC is a tie-in with Star Wars The Force Awakens. Jakku is one of the planets featured in the movie.

We’ve also seen some smaller bits of Battlefront info emerge. EA and DICE have rolled out several patches aimed at curbing Battlefront problems.

We’ve also seen new Battlefront problems emerge, Star Wars Battlefront deals come and go, and a great-looking Battlefront mod arrive on the scene.

With all of that in mind, we want to take a look at a few things we think Battlefront players and potential buyers need to know as we make our way into the month of December, a month that figures to be a busy one for EA, DICE and the Star Wars franchise as a whole.

New Star Wars Battlefront Patch Release Confirmed

New Star Wars Battlefront Patch Release Confirmed

If you've been playing Star Wars Battlefront for PS4, Xbox One or PC, there's a good chance you've run into a problem or a bug in the game. Star Wars Battlefront isn't Fallout 4 but it still has its fair share of issues. And like Bethesda, the company is slowly addressing complaints about the game.

Today EA and DICE announced the next big update for Star Wars Battlefront. The new Battlefront patch will be released on December 16th for PC, Xbox One and PS4 and it will focus on tweaks and bug fixes for a few annoying problems including a Star Card issue in Heroes versus Villains.

In addition to the bug fixes, the December 16th patch will come with some tweaks to help balance the game. These features (which arrived for PC earlier this month) include increased AT-AT health on Endor and the removal of auto-lock on Boba Fett´s missile.

It's not clear when the update will roll out exactly though we'd be surprised if the company release it at midnight on December 16th.

While the patch will address many glaring issues with the game, DICE has its work cut out for it. There are still a number of other problems impacting the game including frustrating issues with the matchmaking element of multiplayer. We've run into these issues, and others, in the days since the release.

DICE and EA will continue to release patches though it's not clear when their next patch will arrive. For now, gamers are stuck with this December 16th patch and manual fixes for common Star Wars Battlefront problems.
