T-Mobile Announces Samsung Galaxy S Relay 4G Release Date
T-Mobile has finally confirmed the Samsung Galaxy S Relay 4G release date as September 19th, just two days ahead of the Apple iPhone 5’s rumored release date.
Four days ago, T-Mobile announced the Galaxy S Relay 4G but it declined to offer customers any specifics in terms of a release date or the device’s pricing.
Today, the carrier confirmed both of those.
The Samsung Galaxy S Relay 4G will be released on September 19th with a price tag of $150 on-contract after a mail-in rebate. The mail-in rebate is going to be worth $50.

This means that interested customers will only have to wait a few days before they can get their hands on T-Mobile’s latest HSPA+ backed slide-out QWERTY.
The Galaxy S Relay 4G’s two main attractions are its compatibility with T-Mobile’s fast 4G HSPA+ 42 Mbps network and its 5-row landscape-oriented slide-out hardware keyboard.
We’ve also been told that the device will rock a dual-core Snapdragon S3 processor clocked at 1.5 GHz, a 4-inch Super AMOLED display, and 1GB of RAM.
T-Mobile will be targeting Enterprise customers with this device as it will feature Microsoft’s Exchange ActiveSync support as well as a number of approved enterprise-ready apps.

And while the device will be running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich at the start, we expect T-Mobile to upgrade it at some point with Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean given its specifications and its release date.
T-Mobile’s launch of the Galaxy S Relay 4G will take place just a few days after the launch of the iPhone 5 which is rumored to be taking place on September 12th and a few days before its rumored release date on September 21st.
T-Mobile, at this point, does not appear like it will get the iPhone 5.
