T-Mobile USA confirmed that it would be carrying the upcoming HTC One S back in February but since then, the carrier has remained mum on details. That hasn’t changed but a leak seems to point to official details becoming available soon.
TMoNews has confirmed that T-Mobile employees have begun training for the upcoming launch of the device and it appears that all signs point to a launch on April 25th and not April 22nd as was previously rumored.
And while we don’t have a specific release date as of yet, the fact that employees are now training means that things are in motion and it shouldn’t be long before we see T-Mobile’s new flagship.
So, unless HTC and T-Mobile decide that the device isn’t ready to go, it appears that April 25th is the day that the carrier will finally put out its One Series device.
The HTC One S is one of the company’s new One Series devices that were announced back at the Mobile World Congress in February. The two other devices in the lineup are the HTC One X, which will be heading to AT&T’s 4G LTE network in the future and the HTC One V which is headed to carriers like Virgin Mobile and Boost Mobile.
The HTC One S features a 4.3-inch qHD Super AMOLED touch screen which sports 540 x 960 resolution, a 1.5 GHz, dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, a thin 8.9mm design, and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
It also runs on T-Mobile’s HSPA+ 42 network which, while not as fast as 4G LTE, will get the job done for many consumers.
It will replace HTC’s Sensation 4G which arrived to much fanfare in 2011.
