Things may have started off a bit slow for U.S. carriers like T-Mobile however, as we’ve inched further and further into 2013, things have picked up and T-Mobile in particular has introduced some new changes and new devices that should be enticing to those that are in the market for a new smartphone during the month of July.
For years, T-Mobile toiled as the number four carrier in the United States behind Verizon, AT&T and Sprint. The carrier was hemorrhaging customers, in part, due to a lack of the iPhone and 4G LTE data speeds. However, a failed merger with AT&T has spawned a new T-Mobile USA, one that is a much more attractive place for users to go.
Earlier this year, T-Mobile announced that it would be moving away from contracts and offering its devices off-contract. It also announced that it would begin offering the iPhone 5, a device that is has now been selling for months now. In addition, the company introduced its 4G LTE network that while small, will increase in size over the course of the next year.
What’s more is that T-Mobile also has an extremely attractive smartphone lineup including several of the biggest names of 2013. Combined, T-Mobile is as an attractive destination as it has ever been.
While having a solid smartphone lineup is nice, it also can be a bad thing as many consumers will have a tough time distinguishing the best T-Mobile smartphones from the rest of the pack. Fortunately, after months of fiddling with these phones, it’s possible to narrow down the list to only a few names, many of which will be recognizable to those in the market for something new.
That said, here we take a look at the devices we consider to be the five best T-Mobile smartphones for the month of July, 2013.
The iPhone finally came to T-Mobile, officially, in the form of the iPhone 5 and unsurprisingly, it's one of the best smartphones on the Magenta carrier's lineup.

With 4G LTE data speeds, a fantastic Retina Display, speedy processor, high quality design and great camera, the iPhone 5 is not only one of the best smartphones on T-Mobile but one of the best smartphones period.
Throw in the fact that it will get iOS 7 later this year and the iPhone 5 is a phone that needs to be on every T-Mobile smartphone shoppers list.
