Top 5 Smartphones to Consider Before Buying the Galaxy S4 [June, 2014]

The Samsung Galaxy S5 might be out on shelves but that doesn’t mean that the Samsung Galaxy S4 has just up and disappeared. No, the device remains a solid option for those that are looking to get a good smartphone without the flagship price. And while it’s still a device worth looking at, there are some other options we think consumers need to consider before taking the plunge with the Galaxy S4.

Last year’s Samsung’s Galaxy S4 was, hands down, one of the most anticipated smartphones of all time. The buildup was due, in part, to the success that the company had with the Samsung Galaxy S3. The Galaxy S3, one of the best selling smartphones of all time, propelled Samsung onto the same pedestal as Apple. It set the bar high.

For months, Galaxy S4 rumors went back and forth until Samsung took the stage at the Radio City Music Hall in New York City and debuted the Galaxy S4 for the first time. The Samsung’s Galaxy S4 may not have lived up to Samsung’s expectations but doesn’t mean that it wasn’t, or still isn’t, a very good smartphone.

In fact, it was one of 2014′s best and it’s a smartphone that still must be considered given its price tag and the features that it has on board including Android 4.4 KitKat.

We’ve heard from a number of people who are considering the Galaxy S4 as their next smartphone. While it’s a little harder to recommend now that the Galaxy S5 is out, it’s still a very solid device overall.

Before buying the Samsung Galaxy S4, there are some smartphones that we think buyers must consider for various reasons. In particular, we think there are five devices that consumers must take a look at before settling on last year’s model. And here we detail the devices we think are worthy of consideration.

Keep in mind, our list may differ from yours but these are the devices that Gotta Be Mobile editors have selected for recognition this month. We feel like they deliver the best, all-around package at the moment. This list will change from month to month as rumored devices get closer to announcement and announced devices get released.
