Verizon Offers Free Data, Apps & More to iPhone & Android Users

We’re waiting to see if there is a special Verizon Black Friday 2014 ad with deals on iPhones, iPads and hot devices like the Droid Turbo, Galaxy Note 4 and LG G3, but the company just announced a collection of holiday gifts and freebies that are open to Verizon subscribers and many that are open to anyone with a smartphone.

Verizon calls this Connection Day with a large amount of Thanksgiving holiday freebies on November 26th, the day before Thanksgiving. These are awesome gifts for anyone who is traveling for the holidays, and even if you aren’t you can score free data, a backup battery discount, free magazines, free apps, free in flight WiFi and free audio books.

All you need to do is register for Connection Day on Verizon Wireless. There are some deals that are only available to Verizon subscribers, but most of the freebies are available to anyone with an iPhone, iPad, Android or other mobile device.

Here’s a look at how you can make your Thanksgiving travel more enjoyable and save money while on the go in November and in December.

Verizon customers with a More Everything plan can sign in and get 1GB of free shareable data for November and another free 1 GB of data in December. This is an awesome offer because it will help many users avoid an overage charge that comes from traveling with a family of smartphones all streaming Netflix and Spotify for hours.

Sign in and claim your free Verizon data online right now. If you are not a More Everything customer you get a deal on the Mophie Powerstation 4000.

There is no catch to this Verizon data offer, so it’s something everyone with a compatible plan should do. Traveling for the holidays can quickly push users over their data plan limits resulting in $15 overages, but a 1GB buffer will make travel and use a little less stressful.

In addition to the free Verizon data on Black Friday 2014 and the Thanksgiving holiday you can take advantage of Connection Day to get a bunch of Thanksgiving freebies. Here’s what you get, even if you are not a Verizon customer.

• Conde Nast: Free Digital Edition downloads of all 17 Conde Nast Publications, including Wired, Vanity Fair and GQ
• Free Wi-Fi: 30-minute complimentary Internet sessions through Boingo Wireless (at airports) and Gogo Technologies (inflight)
• JetBlue: Free in-flight Fly Fi (Wi-Fi) for the duration flights between November 26th and December 24th.
• Pandora Media: Free seven-day trial of Pandora One.

On November 26th go to the Connection Day page to cash in on these deals and gifts. There is also a Verizon FIOS preview that offers movies and TV on the FIOS TV app, even to users who aren’t subscribed to Verizon FIOS.

The Verizon iTunes deal will likely include iTunes gift cards at a discounted rate. We typically see this at many retailers during Black Friday.
