Verizon has yet to announce a pre-order or a release date for the Samsung Galaxy S4, however, it appears that that won’t stop Best Buy from taking pre-orders for the Galaxy S4 ahead of its arrival.
Gotta Be Mobile has learned that Best Buy Mobile is sending out text messages telling prospective customers that it is currently taking pre-orders for the elusive Verizon Galaxy S4 ahead its release date in May. Verizon has yet to offer a pre-order for the device and it has yet to announce a release date, only saying that it will be coming in May. Verizon also currently has a Galaxy S4 sign up page though it has not yet released any of the pertinent information that potential buyers have been looking for in regards to its new flagship.
Best Buy is evidently taking pre-orders ahead of schedule, the second such retailer to do so. We previously reported that a premium Verizon retailer in California was also taking pre-orders ahead of its release date though the price was over $300 on-contract which will likely be a little more expensive through Verizon corporate.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like Best Buy is offering details on release date or pricing though we imagine that it will provide consumers with that information as soon as it becomes available. So for now, those interested in pre-ordering the Verizon Galaxy S4 will need to either shell out a lot of money or pre-order blindly with Best Buy.
The confirmation of a Verizon Galaxy S4 pre-order through Best Buy comes on the heels of AT&T’s announcement of an April 27th release date for the Galaxy S4 and Sprint’s pre-order sell out ahead of its April 27th arrival. It also comes just a few days before the Galaxy S4 hits T-Mobile, a release that is scheduled for April 24th.
Verizon has yet to announce pricing for the Galaxy S4 though we imagine that it might start at the same $199.99 price as AT&T’s device. It’s also unclear if Verizon will be offering both the 16GB model, the 16GB and 32GB or just the 32GB model. We should know more once we get closer to the device’s arrival in May.
