The Samsung Galaxy S5 release date is confirmed for April 11th for a two-year contract price of $199 after a $50 rebate. The Verizon Galaxy S5 pre-orders start this morning and the carrier is offering a Buy One Get One free deal on the Galaxy S5 for customers that sign a contract.
With the Verizon Galaxy S5 announcement the carrier joins AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint and US Cellular for the Galaxy S5 release next week, marking a major shift from last year when Verizon customers needed to wait for the new Samsung and HTC smartphones.
The Verizon Galaxy S5 pre-orders are live on the website right now for the 16GB Galaxy S5. Users can add a shimmery white or charcoal black Galaxy S5 to their cart and pre-order for a ship date by April 11th. This means users that pre-order may see the device ship and arrive a few days early.
The Verizon Samsung Galaxy S5 is $249, but there is a $50 mail in rebate card available to drop the price down to $199 on a two year contract. The off-contract Galaxy S5 price on Verizon is $599, which is slightly lower than on other carriers. The Verizon Galaxy S5 pre-order includes free overnight shipping.

Users can expect the Verizon Galaxy S5 release date of April 11th in stores. Samsung smartphones do not typically sell out or require a line up at the earliest hours of the morning, but if you plan to go to a store on the Galaxy S5 release you may get the phone a few days after other buyers that joined the pre-order.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 is the latest Samsung device, which arrives with a 5.1-inch display and a 1920 x 1080 resolution that is similar to what you’ll find on an HDTV. A Display ranking company just announced that the Galaxy S5 has the best performing smartphone display they have tested, beating out the iPhone 5s.
Users can use the 16MP rear facing camera to take photos using many included camera modes and download additional modes in the months to come. There is only pone rear camera, but thanks to software users can pick a part of the photo to focus on for a more dramatic look. This phone includes a very fast autofocus and is able to show the user what an HDR photo will look like before they snap the shutter. There is a 2MP front facing camera as well.
Verizon also sells the new HTC One M8, which is available in stores today and can be combined with the Galaxy S5 for a buy-one-get-one free deal for shoppers that need to renew two or more lines.
Apple's iPhone 5s is still a top option at Verizon, months after its release. And here's why.
The iPhone 5s is one of the best pound-for-pound smartphones in the world. It features fantastic hardware including a solid camera and industrial design. It comes with Apple's powerful iOS 7 software that will continued to get updated for years to come. And it also comes with a robust App Store that features an armada of quality games.
The iPhone 5s still starts at $199.99 but consumers can plop down their hard earned cash knowing that they're buying a device that is built to last.
