One of Verizon’s best 3G smartphones, the HTC Droid Incredible 2, has seemingly sailed off into the sunset today as the device has vanished completely from the carrier’s website.
So it would appear that the Droid Incredible 2 has now been shown the door which means that an announcement for the upcoming Droid Incredible 4G should be coming within the next few days.
The 4G LTE enabled Droid Incredible 4G has long been rumored to be replacing the Droid Incredible 2 in Verizon Wireless’ lineup and it appears that the launch is now closer than it has ever been.
Right now, the next Droid Incredible, said to be Verizon’s version of the HTC One S, is slated to arrive on April 26th. If true, it means that the carrier will likely be making an announcement next week.
The Droid Incredible 4G has not been shy about leaking out. In fact, its features and design are already well documented.
Droid Incredible 4G features are said to include:
- qHD resolution display
- 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor
- 1GB RAM
- 8GB built-in storage, microSD card slot
- 8MP rear camera with zero shutter lag
- VGA front camera
- NFC support
- Beats Audio (no headphones included)
- 4G LTE
- Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with Sense 4.0
The screen size is still unknown but rumored to be 4-inches and it will likely be powered by Qualcomm’s speedy S4 Snapdragon processor, the same chip found in the HTC One S.
As for the Droid Incredible 2, those looking to pick one up are going to have to do so through retailers like Amazon where the device is available for a mere penny on-contract.
So, we say farewell to the Droid Incredible 2 and wait with great anticipation for the Droid Incredible 4G.
