Vodafone Brings Updated Galaxy S Plus Smartphone to Market
As a mild hardware refresh for Samsung’s year-old Galaxy S Android flagship smartphone, the company has decided to offer a slightly updated Galaxy S Plus model for Vodafone subscribers in the UK. The new device is a hybrid that appears to be a mix between a faster Infuse 4G with the Galaxy S’s camera.
On the Plus model, the single-core Hummingbird gigahertz processor has been replaced by a 1.5 GHz single-core Scorpion CPU. Also, Google’s latest Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system has been pre-loaded and will come as part of the out of box experience along with Samsung’s own proprietary TouchWiz user interface.
The smartphone will retain’s last year’s 5-megapixel camera sensor along with WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, and other radios.
