If you have a smartphone on Verizon Wireless and like Football, then you have yet another reasons to celebrate the end of the NFL strike and start of the pre season.
Right now, you can download the NFL Mobile app from Verizon to your compatible Android phone and tune in to select preseason games complete with live video. This means you can tune in on Saturday evening to see the Cleveland Browns take on the Green Bay Packers no matter where you are.
The NFL Mobile app is available on most Android smartphones, select BlackBerry devices and several other compatible phones. Check out the full compatibility list and feature set at the Verizon NFL Mobile site.
If your phone supports it, you can watch live video of NFL games. The live video works over 3G, 4G and WiFi so you don’t need to choose where you will be, just watch.
In addition to live games, you get the following features.
- Team News Updates
- Red Zone Updates
- Team Score Updates (Including SMS Alerts)
During the pre season, the games are free. During the regular season, you will need to pay to watch the live games, but the team score updates are free. You can purchase a season pass or just 24 hour video access, depending on your needs.
As a displaced Dolphins fan, in the Midwest, I have been using this app to keep track of my team, even though I can’t see them on TV more than once or twice a season. Unfortunately you may have issues on rooted devices, depending on your ROM. This appears to have more to do with the ROM internals than a conspiracy to prevent root users from rooting for their home team.
