The Galaxy S8 is the first phone in the world with Bluetooth 5.0 technology. That might not sound special, but it really is. It opens the gate for so many things that everyone needs to know about it.

This video explains it well. Basically, Bluetooth 5.0 increases the speed of Bluetooth by 800% and gives it multi-channel and directional operation. Additionally, BT 5.0 increased the distance from 30 ft to over 120 feet indoors. That's a huge increase.

This means you can connect the Galaxy S8 to your home stereo no matter what room of the house you're in, and the connection will work. Now you can walk away or go downstairs and the music won't stop or get choppy.

Even better, Bluetooth 5.0 can send the same audio to more than one device at a time. Like two different Bluetooth speakers (even different brands) for stereo sound. Similar to SONOS. Users can even control audio output over Bluetooth on an app-by-app basis. Meaning you can stream music over Bluetooth to a speaker while sending the sound from a movie, game or app right out of the smartphone speakers themselves. Allowing for multi-tasking of audio unlike ever before. It sounds technical, but it really isn't. Check out the video above.
