XPERIA Arc Now Available in U.S. Through Sony

The Sony Ericsson XPERIA Arc, first showcased at CES, is now finally making its way over to the U.S. after having been available for some time now internationally. The impeccably slim 8.7 mm handset features a curved design, 4.2-inch WVGA display with Sony’s Reality Display Bravia Engine to feature vivid colors, an 8-megapixel camera with smile detection featuring the Sony Exmor R sensor, and all the wireless radios and sensors needed. The phone will is available unlocked for $600 from the Sony store, and is compatible with AT&T’s 3G network in the U.S.

The neat thing about the phone is that it has built-in face detection technology for photos. Just like Apple’s desktop Mac OS X iPhoto app, users can sort their pictures by faces so you can quickly retrieve all the photos containing a specific person without having to view your entire photo gallery: “Face recognition changes the way you find the photos, allowing you to search all your photos for Sarah or any other friends.”
