The Motorola 4 Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update, which seemed like it would be rolling out soon just a few days ago, is now confirmed to be rolling out soon as Verizon has approved the device’s Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update which means that a roll out could come at any time.

Earlier this month, it appeared that Motorola was set to begin a soak test for the Motorola Droid 4 Jelly Bean update. The company did not outright confirm that the soak test was for the Droid 4 Jelly Bean update but given that Motorola confirmed the update for arrival and because we had seen no other updates in sight, it was pretty clear that it was Android 4.1 that it was preparing for.

The Motorola Droid 4 Jelly Bean update have been approved by Verizon.

Turns out, those premonitions were correct as Verizon, the Droid 4’s carrier, has approved the update and posted the details for owners to see on its Droid 4 support page. The page is also labeled with a ‘Coming Soon’ which should mean that the software will be rolling out in the next few days.

Typically, once the update is approved, the update takes a few days to roll out. With devices that aren’t as widely adopted like the Droid 4, they can roll out shortly after approval. It’s unclear just how Verizon will play this but expect the software to roll out in phases, meaning, owners will get it at different times after the roll out begins.

The Motorola Droid 4 will be getting Android 4.1 Jelly Bean soon.

What we can be sure of is that the Droid 4 Jelly Bean update will be coming stocked with features including Google Now, faster and smoother UI, improved Camera app, better Browser and Calendar, and an assortment of other features that will improve upon Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

It will also be coming with a number of other enhancements including improved voice and data connectivity, better Calendar settings, and improvements to the mobile hotspot connection.

All in all, it looks like a fantastic update and it’s one that Droid 4 owners should be excited about. Look for it to emerge in the next few days.
