Its been just about 18 years since the release of Final Fantasy 7, a game that captured the hearts and minds of fans of the RPG genre. Production Has Started

Production Has Started

While the Final Fantasy 7 Remake release date is unknown and probably far off in the distance, it's exciting to know that Square Enix has at least begun production on a game that many gamers have wanted for a decade or more.

Square Enix hasn't said how far along in production the game is but from the sound of things, there's virtually no chance it's going to be released in 2015 and there's a good chance that it will skip 2016 as well. The release date is up in the air to say the least.

That said, the important thing is that this game is official and it looks like Sony and Square Enix are both very committed to the project. As fans of the Final Fantasy series and Final Fantasy 7, we're extremely excited to see what the future holds.
