Huge Battery & Wireless Charging
The Samsung Galaxy Note series is known for its quality battery life. We know that Samsung is focusing on battery life in upcoming phones so it's nice to see Galaxy Note 5 rumors hinting at a massive battery even if the final battery size is smaller.
Reports point to a gigantic 4,100 mAh battery. To put that into perspective, the Galaxy Note 4 comes with a 3,220 mAh battery. If Samsung manages to accomplish this it would be extremely impressive, especially if it's able to tuck that battery into a 7.9mm frame.
It’s important to note that specs often change before launch, sometimes on short notice so this could definitely change before the final version of the Galaxy Note 5 gets shown off on stage.
One thing that is set in stone is 15W charging support for Qi chargers. The Wireless Power Consortium today announced an update that will deliver fast charging capabilities to supported wireless chargers. The Galaxy Note 5 will almost certainly come with a wireless charger and it will almost certainly support Qi wireless charging.
One knock on the current state of wireless charging is that it's slower than normal charging. This new standard should help to bring wireless charging closer to the speed of regular charging speed.
