Well, the Google Pixel 2 can do exactly that thanks to a feature known as "Now Playing". Once you turn it on, the phone will instantly hear music around it and gather information on that song before you ever ask. There's even a small notification on your lockscreen with the name and song, waiting in case you want to tap it. 

This all happens offline, so the phone isn't listening to you or sending information back to Google. Then, when music plays you'll get a small notification instantly. Tap this for lyrics, information, links to buy the music or even watch the music video on YouTube. 

Head to Settings > Sounds > Now Playing and turn it on to enjoy all this feature has to offer.
