Be sure to update your applications before you install the Android Pie update on your phone. 

Samsung's updated many of its first-party applications with support for the Android Pie update and the One UI.

The company says you'll need to update some apps including Calculator, Samsung Internet, Samsung Health, Samsung Notes, Samsung Members, and Samsung Pay individually.

These updates bring some new features and they'll help the apps maintain performance on Android Pie. 

Applications that haven't been optimized for Android Pie might not work properly after you make the transition from Oreo to Pie. 

You'll also want to download updates for your third-party applications, but make sure you read reviews from Android Pie users before you do.
