Gamers can "ride in Galicia with the legendary Hussars" during the war's brutal Brusilov offensive. Hussars were mounted calvary units known for their extremely colorful attire. The Hussar units come with an all-new lance and an evolved horse move set.

Female soldiers also play a role in In the Name of the Tsar. 

The Art of Battlefield 1 book pointed to the presence of female soldiers in the DLC and DICE's official In the Name of the Tsar artwork confirmed this.  

The art showcases female Russian soldiers who are a part of the Russian Woman's Battalion of Death that formed in the Spring of 1917. They are represented by In the Name of the Tsar's Scout class.
