Wait for the 2020 iPhones
If you're interested in a smaller iPhone SE 2, 5G connectivity, or a 3D-powered camera, you might want to hang around for the 2020 iPhones.
Apple is reportedly working on four new iPhones for 2020.
One of them is supposedly a 4.7-inch iPhone SE 2, also known as the iPhone 8s and iPhone 9. It will reportedly arrive in Q1 2020 (most likely in March) with a cheap price point.
The company is also reportedly planning to release 5G-powered iPhone models with some significant upgrades to the processor, design, and camera.
The 5G-powered iPhones probably won't arrive until September, but they look like they'll take a significant jump from the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone 11 series.

Even if you end up skipping them, we'll likely see price drops on the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR, and others.
The iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus are solid, but buying a newer iPhone model will set you up much better for the future in terms of hardware performance and software support.
