This isn't confirmed, but Apple is reportedly working with Samsung to bring OLED displays to future iPad Pro models.

According to Korean site The Elec, a site that doesn't have a proven track record when it comes to Apple rumors, Samsung is currently in talks with Apple about supplying OLED panels for iPad Pros.

If Apple decides to deploy an OLED display on the iPad Pro line, we would see sharper clarity and better colors.

Kuo also believes Apple is planning to put Mini-LED backlights on new iPad Pro models in late 2020 or in 2021.

A more recent report from Kuo notes that Apple is planning to install this technology on a 12.9-inch iPad Pro model in Q3 2020.

Kuo claims the arrival of Mini-LED technology will "significantly improve productivity and the entertainment experience." He's also said it will lead to thinner and lighter designs.

These Mini-LED rumors have been backed up by Apple supply chain reports. Both Digitimes and Economic Daily News suggest that Taiwanese manufacturer GIS will play a big role in bringing Mini-LED tech to the iPad Pro line.

Digitimes also claims several manufacturers (including Epistar, General Interface Solution (GIS), Taiwan Surface Mounting Technology (TSMT), Zhen Ding Technology and Flexium Interconnect ) are poised to receive orders from Apple pertaining to the new iPad Pro launch.

If you're interested in an OLED-powered iPad Pro, or Mini-LED technology, you might want to wait and see how rumors shake out.
