Sony Ericsson XPERIA Play Lands on AT&T with 4G, Attractive Pricing for Contract and No Commitment Buyers

Though the Sony Ericsson XPERIA Play’s arrival on AT&T‘s 4G HSPA+ network trails the launch of the 3G device on Verizon’s network by four months, the inclusion of HSPA+ support and attractive pricing options for those looking to buy the phone on contract or without a two-year commitment may help this device succeed in the U.S.

The Sony Ericsson XPERIA Play is now available for purchase for $50 on a two-year contract and just $400 without a contract. Though the phone isn’t one with a dual-core processor, it does feature a Snapdragon CPU with a single-core 1 GHz of power and Areno 205 graphics to power the Playstation game on this PlayStation-certified phone.

Along with four hardware Android navigation buttons located just below the 54-inch FWVGA 16:9 aspect ratio display, the XPERIA Play also has a sliding screen that slides up in landscape orientation to reveal the gaming controllers. Trigger buttons are also located on the top side, when held in landscape orientation, of the device.
