Galaxy Note Edge Release Date Rumors Swirl

Published

on

The long awaited U.S. Samsung Galaxy Note Edge release date is drawing closer as new intel pinpoints a precise Galaxy Note Edge release date for a popular U.S. carrier.

Back in early September, Samsung took the stage in Berlin, Germany and announced a slew of new products including the curved Samsung Galaxy Note Edge. At the time, the company revealed the Galaxy Note Edge specs and confirmed a release for later this year though it did not offer any specifics regarding the exact Galaxy Note Edge release date or the Galaxy Note Edge price.

As the weeks have gone on, we’ve started to see Samsung Galaxy Note Edge release date and Samsung Galaxy Note Edge price information emerge for select markets. Earlier this month, Japan became the first country to release the Galaxy Note Edge and earlier this week, Korea became the second country to release the Galaxy Note Edge to the public at large. And while we’ve seen the U.S. Galaxy Note Edge release make progress, today is the first time we’ve seen a specific release date rumored.

A leaked document from WPCentral proclaims November 14th as the T-Mobile Galaxy Note Edge release date. That date, which remains unconfirmed, is just two short weeks from now and two weeks out from Black Friday, the start of the holiday shopping season and one of the most important retail dates of the entire year.

Unfortunately, the document doesn’t out any other U.S. Galaxy Note Edge release dates though we know that the others are drawing closer as well. T-Mobile’s Galaxy Note Edge recently passed through the FCC, a necessary step on its way to release. The AT&T and Sprint models also moved past the FCC in recent days leaving the Verizon Galaxy Note Edge as the only model needing to gain clearance.

Last week, we saw all four models hit Samsung’s website for the first time, another step towards their release date. The listing there confirmed their storage space (32GB) and their two color options, black and white. The Galaxy Note Edge specs will remain the same across carriers though we still aren’t sure about the Galaxy Note Edge price.

Korean carriers will charge 1,067,000 South Korean Won which amounts to over $1000 in U.S. currency. The Korean price is not indicative of the Galaxy Note Edge’s price point in the United States though the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge is expected to be more expensive than the Galaxy Note 4 that arrived in the United States earlier this month.

This is the third Samsung Galaxy Note Edge price point that we’ve seen emerge in the past few weeks. In Russia, the Galaxy Note Edge is going to be extremely expensive. There, the Galaxy Note Edge will cost 49,990 rubles which is the equivalent of $1221 in the United States. Russia is expected to get the Galaxy Note Edge in November or December before the end of the year.

While the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge release date remains missing in the United States, it does look like an announcement for Samsung’s new high-end smartphone is closer than ever. Other countries, including Russia, should not be too far behind.

Samsung’s brand new Galaxy Note Edge is a concept phone and one that should be intriguing to those that are looking to upgrade to a high-end smartphone. Its specs include a Quad HD resolution, a 2.7 GHz Quad-core Snapdragon 805 with 3GB of RAM, S Pen Android 4.4.4 KitKat with Samsung TouchWiz, 16MP camera with Optical Image Stabilization, massive battery, and a thin 8.3mm frame. Unlike the Galaxy Note 4, it comes with a curved display that Samsung’s touting as its key feature.
