While Touch ID isn't brand new for 2019, it is an upgrade if you've been using a 2015 or older MacBook Pro. 

Apple builds in a Touch ID sensor as the power button that you can use to login to the MacBook Pro, use Apple Pay and use for Safari passwords as well as other authentication options. 

It’s brand new for the base 13-inch MacBook Pro, which is a nice option even if you don’t plan to use the Touch Bar. 

This is a small feature for some users, but it is one that we definitely appreciate.
