The Galaxy Tab Android Pie update is rolling out and that means Samsung tablet owners have a choice to make: Install the update right away or wait a few hours, days, or longer. Both have their benefits.

The Android Pie update is limited to the Galaxy Tab S4 right now, but the roll out will expand to other Galaxy Tab models in the weeks ahead. Owners of older models like the Galaxy Tab S3 have a pretty long wait ahead.

If you own a Galaxy Tab S4, you’ll want to keep an eye out for your update in April and May. We expect a flurry of updates in the near future. Once you get the prompt, you might be tempted to install the software right away.

Samsung’s version of Android Pie is packed to the brim with changes including the company’s new One user interface. The One UI looks a lot different than Samsung Experience and it brings some useful upgrades including a new Night Mode.

Android Pie also brings new emojis, a useful floating keyboard, security patches, enhancements, and bug fixes for lingering Android Oreo issues. It’s an important upgrade and most users should install it soon after it arrives.

With that said, there are also some reasons to consider holding out. The Galaxy Tab Pie update didn’t go through a beta and problems are starting to popup as the roll out grows. It’s difficult to predict what you might encounter so you’ll want to take your time with Pie.

Today we want to take you through the best reasons to install Android Pie on your Galaxy tablet and the best reasons to take a rain check.
