The One UI isn't the only big change on board the Android Pie update. You also get some of Google's base-level Pie features as well.

The Tab's Android Pie update comes with a variety of upgrades including Adaptive Battery, Adaptive Brightness, App Actions, Slices, and Smart Text Selection.

If you're unfamiliar with Google's Android Pie features, you should take a look at our Android Pie vs. Android Oreo walkthrough

Adaptive Battery is an AI-based feature that learns how you use the apps on your device over time and uses the data to improve battery life.

If you use an app a lot, it will stay in your memory after you close it. If you don't use an app a lot, your tablet will instantly kill it so it doesn't eat up power in the background.

It also learns when you use your apps the most. So if you use an app at a certain point in the day every day, it will wake that app up during that time period. It will stop the app in the background during the times you don't regularly use it.

Adaptive Brightness also uses AI to learn your habits. And like the name suggests, the feature is related to the brightness of your display.

Over time, your device will learn how you like to set your brightness in certain situations and it will adjust the screen accordingly.
