Don't Wait for a Foldable Display

Apple might be working on a foldable version of the iPhone, but it won't come in 2019. 

Rivals like Samsung and Huawei have confirmed foldable devices for release this year. Samsung is planning to re-launch the Galaxy Fold later this year while Huawei's Mate X arrives sometime later in the year. Don't expect Apple to join the party.

We've seen some recent patents hint at a foldable iPhone, but that doesn't mean the device is on the way this year. In fact, we're probably a few years away from a release. 

We haven't seen any credible rumors hint at a foldable 2019 iPhone. One analyst believes Apple will roll out a foldable iPhone in 2020 but that's far from confirmed. 

At this point, don't expect a foldable iPhone until 2020, 2021, or later.
