Wait for Performance Improvements

The new iPhones will likely retain Apple's Lightning standard, but it looks like they will come with some improvements to the internal battery and a new charging capability.

According to Kuo, the 2019 iPhones will come with larger batteries which could lead to enhanced battery life. The iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR already deliver solid battery life, but it looks we'll see a significant bump this year thanks to the new A13 processor and battery improvements.

Kuo claims the battery capacity for the 2019 iPhone XS Max could increase by 10 to 15 percent. He also claims the battery capacity of the 2019 iPhone XS could increase by 20 to 25 percent.

He isn't expecting a huge difference on the iPhone XR's successor. He predicts a 0 to 5 percent to change on that model.

A report out of Korea claims the new version of the iPhone XR will come with a 3110 mAh battery would be more than a 5% improvement from the 2942 mAh battery on the current model.

In addition, it looks like the new devices will include "bilateral wireless charging for charging other devices." In other words, you might be able to use the phones to charge other devices like your AirPods. This is backed up by reports from Japanese blog Macotakara and Bloomberg.

This feature is already out on some flagship devices (the Galaxy S10's version is called PowerShare) so Apple will be playing a bit of catchup.

If that sounds like something you might use in your home or in your office, think about waiting for the 2019 iPhones.
