This month, DICE plans to release the first, free DLC expansion for Star Wars Battlefront 2 and it’s set to deliver new features to the multiplayer and single player portions of the game.

This time around, EA DICE is handling Battlefront DLC is a little bit differently. Instead of charging gamers $50-60 for a Season Pass, Star Wars Battlefront 2 DLC content will be free and come in the form of “Seasons.” This decision will help the developer avoid the fragmentation issues that plagued the previous entry into the series.

The developer hasn’t gone into the DLC content coming in 2018, but we do have some details regarding the first expansion.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 The Last Jedi arrives later this month and it ties into the The Last Jedi movie that arrives on December 15th (with first showings taking place on December 14th).

DICE’s revealed The Last Jedi release date for Xbox One, PS4 and Windows PC. We’re also armed with details about the characters, vehicles, and challenges coming with the expansion.

The Last Jedi release date is set for early December, but DICE will provide a month’s worth of content for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Windows PC users.

With the release imminent, we want to take you through what we know right now and a few things we expect from DICE and Star Wars Battlefront 2 The Last Jedi release.

The Star Wars Battlefront 2 The Last Jedi Season kicks off on December 5th.

On the December 5th, players will need to align themselves with one of two factions: The First Order or the Resistance. Choosing one or the other will allow you to take advantage of special challenges. Successfully completing these challenges will grant your faction specific rewards.

The first challenge will take place on December 5th and the Season's last challenge, a Weekend Challenge, will take place on December 29th. In other words, you'll have a full month of challenges and activities to complete. 

As for the DLC's actual content, well, that comes a little later during week 2 of the first Season. The first downloadable content arrives on December 13th.

Weeks 3 and 4, which kick off on December 20th and December 27th respectively, are focused on challenges rather than delivering new content.
