7 Reasons to Wait for the OnePlus 6T & 3 Reasons Not To

Published

With the impressive OnePlus 6T release date less than two weeks away, potential buyers looking for more information or trying to decide if it’s worth waiting for have come to the right place. This guide will go over everything we know about the OnePlus 6T and explain a few reasons why you should, and maybe shouldn’t, wait for its arrival.

Buyers have plenty of excellent options available now or coming soon. From the Galaxy Note 9 and LG V40 to the Pixel 3 XL. And while they’re all great, we recommend waiting a few more weeks.

We’re expecting OnePlus to improve the 6’s design and introduce an all-new OnePlus 6T on October 29th. Leaks confirm a bigger screen, in-display fingerprint scanner and high-end specs that will compete with or top Samsung, Googe and even Apple. It could rival the upcoming Galaxy S10 in 2019.

OnePlus 6T Leaks, Rumors, & Speculation

Right now everyone is looking at phones from popular brands like Samsung, Apple and Google. We think the OnePlus 6T might be better than all of them. That’s because recent info suggests the company will use new technology like an in-display fingerprint scanner, powerful specs, faster charging, and a tiny notch delivering a truly edge-to-edge display. Essentially putting the iPhone Xs and Note 9 to shame.

This week a massive leak on Twitter confirmed every rumor about the OnePlus 6T. Showing that yes, the screen is bigger, a fingerprint scanner is underneath it, the phone will get all-day battery life, and it’ll still be affordable. In fact, the OnePlus 6T has one of the best edge-to-edge screens on the market, better than the iPhone Xs.

Leaks call this a “teardrop notch” or a water-drop notch. Basically, there’s a tiny notch in the screen for the front-facing camera. Then, the company put all the rest of the sensors in the metal frame of the phone instead of where the screen should be. The opposite of what we’re seeing from Apple and Google. This way they can deliver a truly edge-to-edge screen.

And, with the launch event scheduled for October 29th, the wait is almost over, making the choice even more difficult. If you find yourself struggling on whether you should get a Pixel 3XL, Note 9, or even an iPhone Xs Max, our slideshow below will walk you through some reasons to, and not to, wait for and buy the OnePlus 6T.

Wait for a Big Screen & Lots of Horsepower

Wait for a Big Screen & Lots of Horsepower

For the last few years, OnePlus has delivered phones that compete with (or beat) the very best Android has to offer. All while doing it for significantly less money.

The OnePlus 6 is as good or better than the Galaxy S9+ or Note 9, yet it's only $529. We're expecting that trend to continue with a big screen and plenty of horsepower on the OnePlus 6T. Basically, wait for the 6T. You can expect the latest Snapdragon 845 (just like the Galaxy Note 9).

Last year the OnePlus 5T had a big 6-inch screen, but the newer OnePlus 6 is even bigger at 6.3-inches. With an even smaller notch, the 6T has a 6.4-inch display.

Each year they've made the "T" bigger and better than the phone from earlier in the year, and we're expecting that again in 2018. And while it'll likely have a lot of the same specs on the inside, like 8BG of RAM, we could see a few surprises.

Either way, this will be OnePlus' biggest, best and fastest phone of the year. Wait for it!
