Specially Tuned 3.8L V6 with 600 HP and 481 lb.ft of Torque

Every Nissan GT-R features a handcrafted 3.8-liter V6 24-valve twin-turbocharged engine put together by a Takumi technician, but the NISMO takes it up a notch with more power and torque.

Twin Turbochargers from the GT-R GT3 Race Car

Part of this engine upgrade is the twin turbochargers straight from the GT0-R GT 3 racecar. These feature aa modified shape and fewer blads, which helps with airflow and ultimately improves acceleration response by 20% without losing any horsepower.

NISMO Front Fenders with Scallops from the GT 3 Race Car

Also borrowed from the GT 3 race car are the front fenders that are inspired by the GT3 GT-R with scalloped vents that move hot air away from the engine and improve downforce on the front tires without increasing drag.

Re-Tuned Suspension

Nissan reworked the suspension on the 2020 NISMO to deliver better cornering stability and a smoother ride. While the ride is stiffer than the 50th anniversary, toggling comfort mode on does make a longer trip more comfortable. The steering is also upgraded so you need to make fewer corrections at speeds up to 186 miles per hour.

Massive Carbon Ceramic Brakes

There are massive Carbon Ceramic brakes on the 2020 GT-R NISMO. The front rotors are 16.14 inches and the rear rotors are 15.35 inches. These are paired with Brembo calipers painted bright yellow and can resist temperatures over 1,000 degrees Celcius.

This system works together to deliver better reaction time durability and stopping capability. When coming to a full stop from high speeds the 2020 GT-R NISMO was easy to control and quick to stop.

67 Pounds Lighter Thanks to Carbon Fiber & Upgrades

The massive amount of carbon fiber in the NISMO takes 23 pounds off the weight of the car compared to the other 2020 GT-R models. This includes carbon fiber in the front and rear bumpers, front fenders, hood, roof, side sill covers, trunk, and the massive spoiler.

Nissan shaved off another 44 pounds with other upgrades and using new components throughout the 2020 NISMO.

Special Dunlop Tires for More Grip

The 2020 NISMO features incredibly sticky tires that are specially designed with wider tread and fewer grooves to deliver 11% more contact. This delivers better cornering force and enhanced steering response.

Lighter 9 Spoke Wheels

You also get 20-inch RAYS forged aluminum wheels with a lighter nine-spoke design. This design looks great and it upgrades the rigidity of the rims.

Refined R Mode

There’s a refined R mode for the 6-speed dual-clutch system on the NISMO. The shifts are faster and gear selection is optimized especially when exiting corners.

The shifts feel quicker in the NISMO and the system can even adapt to your driving style so that you get the best possible shifts on the road and the track without changing a lot of settings and manually changing modes.
