Many of you out there just scooped up your first Android phone and it’s probably running an operating system called Android 2.3 Gingerbread. What you might not know, unless you’re an Android enthusiast, is that there were a bunch of cleverly named operating systems that came before your operating system that incrementally brought features to the Android platform.
Donut, Eclair, Froyo, Gingerbread, and hey, even Honeycomb are all represented here in this nifty infographic from the folks at tecca and I guarantee that after you take this trip down memory lane, those of you who had one of the original Android phones are going to feel a little bit nostalgic.
It’s also pretty informative for those that are trying to soak up the history of the operating system that is now Apple’s chief rival.
