Don’t Pre-Order If You’re Worried about Launch Day Bugs

Don’t Pre-Order If You’re Worried about Launch Day Bugs

Finally, don’t pre-order Assassins Creed Origins if you’re worried about launch day bugs.

This is good advice for any game you plan to buy. You don’t get to read reviews or see detailed video clips of gameplay when you pre-order a title. Many places that sell digital pre-orders don’t offer refunds. This leaves you with a game you don't like.

Assassin’s Creed lovers have another reason to avoid pre-ordering: Assassin's Creed Unity. Assassin’s Creed Unity launched with loads of game breaking bugs and issues in 2014. The problems were so bad that Ubisoft also blamed weak sales of Assassin’s Creed Syndicate on people remembering Unity’s flawed launch from the year before. It's already risky to buy a game before launch. Buying a new game in a franchise that has a history of bugs is even riskier.

Not pre-ordering the title gives you time to decide whether the game is worth purchasing at full price if there are bugs.
