In this buying guide we’ll explain why you need a Moto G5 Plus screen protector and share a list of the best options to buy today. A good glass screen protector keeps your screen scratch free and your phone looking nice and new.
The Moto G5 Plus is one of the best budget smartphones around. And just because it’s affordable doesn’t mean you shouldn’t consider protection. Motorola’s phone is durable, but it’s far from scratch proof. In fact, we recommend everyone get a screen protector.
There are a few different styles of screen protectors to choose from. Some are cheap films like what you find at a carrier or retail store, while others are expensive tempered glass. We’ve found some priced under $6, and others for a few dollars more. This is cheaper than replacing a broken screen or the entire phone. You’ll need to spend a little more to get one from a reputable brand.
Our list offers two different styles of protection. We recommend tempered glass first because it’s very durable. Then there’s a cheaper film for those who’d rather not use glass. The Moto G5 Plus doesn’t have a curved screen like the Galaxy S8 or other high-end phones, so glass protectors fit with ease.
The cheapest screen protection is a film or HD film. This is a thin layer of durable military-grade material that’s scratch resistant and is typically very inexpensive. One of these is better than nothing and will at least keep the screen safe. The more expensive protectors use a chemically hardened and strengthened glass like what’s already on your phone, the screen itself. This tempered glass is extremely scratch and shatter-resistant. If it does break, the phone is often safe underneath.
Even if you buy a case, we still recommend using a screen protector. That’s because a case won’t protect your phone in a purse or pocket full of keys, or life’s daily hazards. When durable glass screen protectors are this inexpensive, it just makes sense to get one and prolong the life of your phone. Check out the slideshow below and choose from one of the reputable brands we recommend.
