7 Common Madden 19 Problems & How to Fix Them

This is how to fix Madden 19 problems on Xbox One, PS4 and PC so that you can get back to playing.

Madden 19 is here with all new features, epic new MUT modes and a new Real Player Motion setup that changes gameplay at the core. Unfortunately there are also Madden 19 problems that will stop you from enjoying the game.

Most of the time you can get back to playing Madden 19 without waiting for EA Help on Twitter or for a patch to arrive.

Sometimes there are Madden 19 bugs or errors that can only be fixed with an update or patch. There may also be Madden 19 server problems or issues with Xbox Live and PSN that are out of your control — but you can fix many issues on your own. Expect to see the first Madden 19 update within a few weeks of the release date.

C0mmon issues include missing Madden 19 MUT packs, slow downloads, EA Access and Origin Access problems, server issues and connection issues including party chat.

Here is a rundown of the current Madden 19 problems, and how you can fix these issues if you run into the error while playing.

How to Fix Madden 19 Download Problems

Another common issue with the trial and with the full version of the game is that you may run into Madden 19 download errors.

I could not download Madden 19 to my Xbox One. It got halfway and then kept throwing an error. The game was trying to install to the external hard drive and there was an issue somewhere. I restarted my Xbox One, unplugged the drive and plugged it back in and the download resumed.

If you need to fix a slow Madden 19 download, you can pause the download, wait 5 seconds and restart. On PS4 go to downloads, press X to pause and then again to restart. On Xbox One, go to Games & Apps, choose the Queue and then on Madden 19 press the three lines button on your controller and choose pause installation. Wait a second and then choose re-install.

How to Fix Madden 19 Installation Problems

You may run into Madden 19 installation problems if you don’t have enough room or if your external drive is acting up.

The first thing to try is restarting your console. This takes less than a minute, and it can fix most problems. I could not install Madden 19 on the Xbox One X. It kept saying the disk dirty. I solved this problem by turning the Xbox One off, unplugging for a minute and then trying again on reboot.

You may also need to delete old games to make room. Go to storage on your console and see if you have enough room for the full Madden 19 download or install. Even if you have the disk, the game needs a lot of space.

Another thing that you may need to do is clear local game saves or the cache. On the Xbox One use these directions. You need to make sure you are backing up your saves to Xbox Live or you will lose progress.

Go to Settings -> All Settings -> System -> Storage -> Clear local saved games. Once this is done, go to Settings -> All Settings -> Network -> Network Settings -> Go offline. Now restart your Xbox One by holding the power button for 10 seconds. Put Madden 19 in and install with your console offline. When the install completes, go back online and install any updates.

On the PS4 you can clear the PS4 Cache. To do this, turn your PS4 off, unplug it for a full minute and then plug it back in. If that fails, delete Madden 19 and try installing again.

How to Fix Missing Madden 19 Pre-Order Content & Packs

If you pre-ordered the Madden 19 Hall of Fame Edition you may run into a problem where you don’t get the special packs automatically. EA is aware of this issue.

You can try the following steps to get your missing MUT packs now;

1. Turn the Xbox completely off.
2. Unplug the power cable for 2-3 minutes.
3. Plug the cable in, turn the Xbox on and open Madden 19.
4. Go to MUT, to Store and Claim Packs even if it says 0.

This will fix the issue for some people. If you still do not have your packs, you will need to contact EA Help on Twitter or online.

Can’t Create MUT Team on Madden 19

There is an issue with Madden 19 where users cannot create a Madden Ultimate Team. This is happening with the Hall of Fame Edition, and it is impacting a number of users.

EA is aware of the issue, and working on a fix, but they do not have a time frame for the solution yet.

How to Fix Madden 19 PC Crashes

We are seeing limited reports of Madden 19 crashing on the PC. If this happens to you, EA suggests uninstalling the game and re-installing it. It’s not clear yet if that will fix the issue for everyone, but it is a good start.

We’re seeing reports of Madden 19 PC crashes with no error. In these cases, some users are able to fix this by updating drivers, motherboard BIOS and other updates. You can work with EA for more help in the forums.

Madden 19 MUT Challenges Not Completing

There is a Madden 19 MUT Challenge error that is incredibly frustrating. After you complete a challenge, it doesn’t register as complete. This appears to be happening when there is a disconnect from the EA Servers.

If the EA servers are down, you can’t do anything about this, but if it is your local connection you have some control. EA Barry says this issue happened when users were “kicked for server maintenance” and it may be fixed.

You should try a wired connection if possible. Another option is to reset your modem and router, which can give you a more reliable connection.

The Madden 19 trial is live on EA Access and Origin Access. You should be able to play for 10 hours, but that is not the case for everyone.

Users on Twitter report that the EA Access Madden 19 trial shows an error,

If you see this message, you can try restarting your console and signing back in.  Another thing you can try is opening the EA Access app, to see what your status is in the app.

EA suggests going to the home screen, selecting Madden 19 and then pressing menu. Choose Manage game and remove any pre-order installs listed.

This issue is not impacting everyone with EA Access. Unfortunately this may be an issue that you need to wait for EA to fix. Reach out to EAHelp on Twitter.

Another EA Access Madden 19 trial problem is running out of time. You only get 10 hours. Make sure you fully quit the game on Xbox One and on PC with Origin Access. If it is in the background, you could run out of time.
