Official Fallout 4 Mods
If you're looking to get more out of Fallout 4, Bethesda's DLC will be a good place to start. It's not the only place to look though. Bethesda will also release official Fallout 4 mods that will allow you to modify your game on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
You can mod Fallout 4 right now, if you own a PC. Unofficial Fallout 4 mods have emerged at a steady pace since launch and they've changed the game in some impressive ways. PC users can wield lightsabers, upgrade ammo, improve the look of items and the world, and more.
Later this year, Bethesda will release an official mod tool for PC that will allow these same developers (and many others) to bring official (and free) mods to the PC, Xbox One and PS4. Bethesda is working to deliver a streamlined process that makes it easy and safe for everyone to try Fallout 4 mods.
Bethesda's Pete Hines recently told gamers that "idea is that you could do it all from within game menu." Hines also says that the company will use the same exact platform for the PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
Bethesda's confirmed plans to release a mod tool for PC. Its also confirmed plans to bring mods to PC first, followed by Xbox One and PS4 sometime later this year. The company hasn't outlined any firm dates and it continues to answer questions with vague responses.
We'd expect that timeline to stick for Xbox One and PS4. We'd be surprised if Bethesda surprised with an early PS4 Fallout 4 mod release.
These official Fallout 4 mods are going to extend the life of the game and bring some incredible items and other content to the game. On top of the DLC and on top of the other updates that Bethesda is planning to release.
Keep your eyes peeled for official details about Fallout 4 mods. We expect to see some specifics emerge in the early part of 2016.
