Note 9 vs Note 8: Battery Life & Charging

Before we wrap up we wanted to mention battery life one more time, along with some info on wireless charging.

Samsung took a cautious approach to the Note 8 battery after the Note 7 fiasco. As a result, you have a huge powerful phone with a small 3,300 mAh battery that simply doesn't last long enough for most users. The Galaxy S8+ and S9+ both have smaller screens and a bigger battery.

This year though, Samsung went big and added a massive 4,000 mAh battery to the Note 9. I want it for the battery upgrade alone. That's bigger than the 3,500 mAh battery in the Galaxy S9+ and far bigger than the 3,300 chip in the Note 8. Expect substantially better battery life, and even more when Android 9 arrives.

Additionally, Samsung added a new 15w wireless charging to the Note 9 also. The iPhone X wireless charging is slow because it only uses 7.5 watts of power. Samsung phones do "fast wireless charging" with 10 watts, but the new Galaxy Note 9 boosts that up to 15 watts and offers the fastest wire-free charge on the market.

Between a huge battery and faster charging, I want one already.
