Galaxy S8 vs Galaxy S7: Design

The design is really familiar in one sense, but completely different at the same time. That's because Samsung's using the same tried and true all metal and glass materials, with a design that's almost identical to the Galaxy S7 Edge or Note 7.

In terms of the design the biggest difference is the large screen on front. It just pops out at you, and the bezels are tiny. However, the design change most will need to take into consideration is the missing home button and relocation of the fingerprint scanner. Samsung added a haptic 3DTouch like engine under the glass where the new on-screen home button is, so it shouldn't feel too different. But reaching way up to the very top right side for the fingerprint scanner will take some serious getting used to.

Instead of putting the finger sensor under the camera in the middle it's to the right, which is a questionable spot. It's a long reach, and camera lenses will get fingerprints and smudges on them. Remember that.

The sides, front and back all curve together for a seamless design. There's  a 3.5mm headphone jack (hopefully) and new USB Type-C port for charging. Which is reversible and can be plugged in both ways.

All you really need to know is the Galaxy S8 is about the same size as the Galaxy S7, has a bigger screen, no hardware home button, and a curved display. Not too bad, right?
