Last year the Galaxy S8 and bigger 6.2-inch Galaxy S8+ were exactly the same phones. The only difference was a bigger screen and a larger battery. They had the same features and specs across the board.
That's not the case this year, as the Galaxy S9+ is a lot more than just a bigger screen. Just like the Galaxy Note 8, Samsung's Galaxy S9+ has two cameras on the back. These are two 12 SuperSpeed DualPixel cameras with a variable aperture, 960 FPS slow-motion, 4K video, optical image stabilization and more. Powerful cameras with AI built in too. Additionally, the bigger Galaxy S9+ has a large 3,500 mAh battery and 6GB of RAM instead of only 4GB. This should improve performance and multi-tasking, but only by a little bit. Both phones are still plenty fast and powerful.
So, if you want the best of the best from Samsung in early 2018, that will be the bigger, dual-camera packing Galaxy S9+. The regular model will still be good, but the S9+ is more than just a bigger screen. |
