Don't Expect New Emojis

While it would be great to see Apple get new emoji characters ready for the initial iOS 12 release, we don't expect that to happen.

Apple's promised to bring new emoji characters to the iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, and Apple Watch insides of software updates later this year.

These updates will deliver 70+ emoji characters to iOS 12 users including mango, lettuce, cupcake, moon cake, red hair, gray hair, and curly hair emoji characters.

None of these emojis are available in the iOS 12 beta, but we expect Apple to put them into beta before they're released to the public.

If history repeats itself, look for the company to first release them inside an iOS 12.1 or iOS 12.2 beta before pushing them live for millions around the world later this year.
