Apple
iOS 17.1 Should Arrive Tomorrow
Apple’s new iOS 17.1 update for iPhone should arrive tomorrow.
iOS 17.1 is the next version of iOS 17 and the software is set to bring a long list of features to compatible iPhone models.
The firmware has been in testing for several weeks, but Apple’s reportedly ready to pull the software out of beta testing and release it to millions of iPhone users around the world.
Last week, Apple pushed its iOS 17.1 Release Candidate, or RC, to beta testers. The Release Candidate is the final version of the beta which means the public release is close.
Apple itself hasn’t confirmed iOS 17.1’s release date, but a French regulatory group has revealed Apple’s plans.

According to French regulatory group ANFR, the iOS 17.1 update will land by October 24th. The group says “Apple has committed to deploying an update in France” and the update, which will deliver a tweak to lower radiation levels on the iPhone 12, will “be available to all users no later than October 24.”
The morning of October 23rd has come and gone which means you can expect the iOS 17.1 update to land tomorrow for the iPhone XR, iPhone 11, and newer iPhone models.
Apple typically releases new software around 10AM Pacific. This is when you can expect Apple to deploy iOS 17.1 for iPhone, iPadOS 17.1 for iPad, and macOS Sonoma 14.1 for Mac.
iOS 17.1 is a milestone upgrade and it’s loaded up with changes including improvements to AirDrop and StandBy, new features for the Music app, an array of bug fixes, and security patches.
The software won’t bring missing features like the Journal app though we should see Apple put a new iOS 17.2 update into beta testing in the near future.
